Since retirement, I have become active in community affairs. I am on the AARP stat committee, the senior citizens board (11 years), the Nacogdoches ISD board (9 years) and have volunteered at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital 3,000-plus hours.
The thing I like most about volunteering: It's an opportunity to minister to those who are less fortunate.
