Wow Moment of the Month- Tracy Izard

Posted 09/28/2012

This month's winner for Wow Moment of the Month is a repeat "offender," if you'll forgive the oxymoron! This is Tracy Izard's second win for a random act of kindness.  The physical therapist was nominated this time by one of her patients, who became aware of our WOW program after seeing the Wow pin Tracy had received for a previous act of kindness. The patient inquired about the pin and upon hearing about the hospital’s recognition program, contacted the Physical Therapy manager to tell her story. “Tracy is definitely a WOW employee and my families’ angel,” she said, explaining that during the admission process, Tracy had become aware of this patient’s financial concerns and family hardships. The patient and her spouse were both unemployed.   The patient said that the day after her therapy session with Tracy, she awakened to a greeting card left for her with a Kroger gift card inside.

The Kroger gift card allowed her to purchase the medications she needed after discharge and to buy groceries for her family.
The patient said that she and her family had already given Tracy a thank you note and knew she didn’t want any recognition, but felt this WOW act needed to be shared.  For such a kind gift of generosity and compassionate concern, Tracy, we salute you – again!
