Emergency Medical Services/Ambulance

To provide the highest level of emergency care, physicians dedicated exclusively to emergency medicine work full-time in Memorial's emergency room, along with a highly trained staff of nurses and support personnel.

Three ambulance substations are strategically placed to reduce emergency response time to all parts of the county. Ambulances are actually Mobile Intensive Care Units, furnished with the same advanced equipment and technology utilized in the Emergency Department.

At least one Advanced Cardiac Life Support trained paramedic and one EMT are dispatched to every 9-1-1 call. The EMS field crew is composed of 40 paramedics and EMTs. All EMS dispatchers are trained and certified in their field.

Whenever possible, "retired" ambulances are refurbished and donated to area volunteer services to enhance and complement Memorial's emergency outreach.

For non-emergency and nursing home transfers, call (936) 568-8508.
In emergencies, always remember to dial 911.
