Ultrasound

Ultrasound is a non-invasive medical test that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce real-time pictures of the inside of the body. Ultrasound scans can reveal the structure of organs and blood vessels, and are used during a patient’s pregnancy to examine the fetus. Unlike other imaging techniques such as x-ray and PET scans, ultrasounds do not expose the patient to radiation.

Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital offers patients 3D ultrasound technology that sends sound waves from different angles and compiles the data into three-dimensional images.
