When a doctor recommends a hysterectomy, many women have the option of undergoing a robotic-assisted procedure, which greatly reduces pain and speeds up recovery time.

Rather than performing an open surgery, the specialists at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital may use the da Vinci® surgical system, an advanced technology that requires only four small incisions in the patient’s abdomen. The robotic arms of the da Vinci® system work as the surgeon’s hands, allowing for precise, fine-tuned movements and eliminating instrument tremor. The system’s 3D camera gives doctors an incredible view, letting them virtually explore inside the body.

Because the procedure is minimally invasive, patients lose less blood, experience less pain, and are able to get back to their normal routine much sooner.
