"Pain is temporary; pride is forever." Running 13.1 miles might lead to a few aching muscles, but Nacogdoches Memorial Health is proud to offer runners a challenging way to support a healthier community.
The East Texas Half Marathon, 10K, & 5K showcases the natural beauty and historical attractions of the "Oldest Town in Texas” and supports Nacogdoches Memorial Health’s mission of providing the best healthcare for our community in a caring way. This scenic course is a relatively flat and fast route that runners of all levels will enjoy. Starting and finishing at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital, the course weaves through the East Texas pines and offers wonderful views of downtown Nacogdoches and the beautiful Stephen F. Austin State University campus.
The East Texas Half Marathon began at 7 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital, 1204 N Mound St. This race includes state-of-the-art timing and results, and trophies were awarded to the male and female winner of each age category. Participants received custom tri-blend shirts, custom race-bibs, custom medals, and more. Once runners accomplished their 13.1 mile goal, they stuck around for food, drinks, music and fun that followed in the post-race party area!
