Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Nacogdoches Memorial Health is celebrating the hundreds of newborn babies we have helped grow strong so mom and dad can bring them home. You can see photos of our first year celebration and all of our precious NICU babies here!

Expecting parents count down the months, days and hours until their due date. If that day comes earlier than planned, premature infants require expert care, and they may be in the hospital for a few extra weeks or even months. For parents of babies needing neonatal intensive care, it’s comforting to know our NICU provides advanced care for premature, low birth-weight and critically ill newborns.

With our state-of-the-art facility, we offer the highest level of care for babies with a gestational age of at least 30 weeks:

  • Specially trained neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners, respiratory, speech and physical therapists, dietitians, pharmacists and registered nurses.
  • Advanced respiratory support for complex medical issues, including continuous life support with conventional mechanical ventilation.
  • Expert instruction on breast feeding and special care prepares families for the next steps.

Expect great things from our NICU, where we deliver exceptional patient care.

The Nacogdoches Memorial Health NICU is Level II.
